JKS, I think I love you... your choice of artist/directors is dead-on.

| JKS you just gave me an idea; how about Quentin Tarantino for a remake of Cool World since the dude is a huge fan of Ralph Bakshi's works and references them in Kill Bill Vol. 2. |

Well, no, I'm not trying to say that Schumacher ("Schmucker")'s the worst director in the world. I never said that.
I just think that he's a hack, and that he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near anything resembling a Bakshi remake.

Quentin Tarantino would be a great choice, if Bakshi can trust him.
But I still think that Bakshi himself would be the best choice for a Cool World remake, if one is ever greenlighted.
As long as everything is done under Bakshi's supervision, with Bakshi's original script and story, and with a nice group of talented filmmakers and animators, I don't see how a Cool World remake could fail.
In fact, if Bakshi's vision is truly fulfilled with this one, this could end up rivaling Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Of course, we're all just dreaming here.
There is no Cool World remake in the works, and there won't be unless Last Days of Coney Island is a success.
I'm hoping it will be a success -- Ralph needs some more recognition and respect. A new film should do just that.
And, hopefully, he might be able to get some more of the projects he's always wanted to do made. |

| I hope so too Issac if The Last Days of Coney Island will be a success and I don't think a Cool World would rival Roger Rabbit since the original idea of Cool World was supposed to be a Horror movie while Roger Rabbit is a Comedy movie and yes, I also believe that Ralph Bakshi deserves the recognition and respect. |

Well, I meant, in terms of overall quality, not in material.
I know that the original screenplay was nothing like Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
But, I do have something to add: if your idea of a horror movie is an idiot running around with a chainsaw in a dumb Halloween mask, I think that you'd be quite disappointed by the Cool World remake, if it ever does get made. |

Crucial point made...thank u 4 clearing that up, Isaac.
Chances r that a remake, still may not even b easily digestible 4 everyone, knowing Ralph's sense of humor, dark humor that is...and intelligence, which involves a lot of surrealism....a remake may b something a little closer in this context toward cult films like Jacob's Ladder, Blue Velvet or Altered States I'm pretty sure. |

Are you kidding me? I won't be disappointed by a remake of Cool World, I'm a huge fan of Horror movies. |

Okay, so except for Stephen King's IT, the original Tales from the Crypt movie from 1971, the Demon Knight spin-off from HBO's Crypt TV series (BTW: Where's Bordello of Blood?), and Tales from the Hood, your list is pretty much all "idiot running around with a chainsaw in a dumb Halloween mask" type-of horror movies.
Where are the classics, like Night of the Living Dead? Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho? Stanley Kubrick's The Shining (I KNOW you've seen that movie, Movie-Man)?
Dracula, with Bela Lugosi? Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens, with Max Schreck? Das Kabinett des Doktor Caligari, with Werner Krauss? (Damn, some hack named David Lee Fisher is trying to do a remake of that movie as we speak...must avoid) |

Whoops, I forgot The Shining and I haven't seen Night of the Living Dead but I'm looking forward to George A. Romero's Land of the Dead and I wish I could add Bordello of Blood but it wasn't good enough; and it didn't look scary but however there are some positives about that movie. |

Beetlejuice doesn't count as a horror film.
If you're interested in seeing Land of the Dead, PLEASE view Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead beforehand.
One final note: AVOID the 30th Anniversary Edition of Night of the Living Dead...it's interesting for fans of the film to watch, but it may put people off if they haven't seen Romero's intended cut beforehand {the 30th Anniversary Edition was re-cut by John A. Russo, who co-wrote the original screenplay; for the 30th Anniversary of the film, Russo added in new, inferior scenes. However, the new cut did have a nice new score}.
Romero's intended cut of Night of the Living Dead is pretty easy to find, since his version is in the Public Domain, and non-copyrighted.
You might be able to find a cheap copy of Night of the Living Dead in your local bargain bin.
Or, if you have a lot of time on your hands, you can download it from here:
http://www.archive.org/details/night_of_the_living_dead
Either way, you'll get to see the film the way George A. Romero had originally intended it to be seen, and not some shoddy re-cut anniversary edition. |

Well, I said "pretty much." I didn't mean that everything on your list was run-of-the-mill slasher flicks.
I liked the first Alien movie. I've never seen the sequels and I don't plan to.
I've never seen Predator or its sequel.
I don't plan to view the Puppet Master horror movies -- the concept of "living puppets who kill people for their master" doesn't work for me. Sorry.
Plus to add to the fact that the first film in that series was inspired by another film which was a rip-off of Child's Play, which I have seen, and like because it works great as a dark comedy (it looks bad as a horror film, as I didn't find it to be scary in the least bit).
My opinion of Bordello of Blood is that it's a pretty good movie if you look at it as a comedy, and not as a horror film. |

Since I didn't like Cool World, I'm obviously not going to agree with you on everything.
If I get a chance, I'll see Predator.
Be sure to check out Romero's first three "Living Dead" films--they're classics. |

Thanks, I love you, too..... I guess. Anywho, Isaac, I haven't seen Aliens myself, but according to the whole world, that is the only sequel you should see. Hmmm, Puppet Master, 'ey. Haven't seen that one either. It's a hard to come by film. That's a damn shame too, it's one of Full Moon Pictures' best, I hear. Predator is the best movie out of 1987, along with RoboCop. Predator 2 was okay. You can't replace Schwarzenegger and his kick-ass catchphrases, although in truth, I don't really care for him. Bruce Campbell makes one of the best on-screen heroes in my book.
