Ralph,
It must have been something to be 16 in 1954 Brooklyn, NY. Was your life at that time anything like the way that 1950's Brooklyn, was depicted in Hey Good Lookin'? When I first saw that film, 8-10 years ago, I always thought that it was a representation of your own teenage years. Were you a greaser wearing tight jeans complete with a leather jacket? & Did Hey Good Lookin' have any personalization to you besides being just a film project? Any teenage memories revised in the film? _________________

| My father and ralph were friends in Brooklyn. They grew up together. I would be interested to know as well if any characters in Hey Good lookin were based on the people in the neighborhood |

Growing up in Brooklyn from 1938 through the 50's was an interesting and exiciting thing for me. A lot of the things we all believed in and strove to be cool at and who we hung around with etc. seemed right at the time but many years later I could not believe how me and my friends acted in those days. How we dressed, what we thought of sex, and what we thought being cool was. There is a lot in Hey Good Looking that represents actual events of my youth and a lot of the guys and girls I knew, and of course their parents, etc etc.
Looking had a lot of production problems but the joy of seeing even a few of the scenes come to life, scenes between me, my friends and the rest of the morons on the block made it a worthwhile project. I mean hanging around in the back of cars when the girls went to the bathroom at the Drive-In, finding out who got what is about as dumb as it gets but there we were.
Thanks for Lookin'.
